Unbelievable Arcadian Loft Wedding In Toronto | Erica & David
We ended 2021 with an absolute belter of a wedding. Erica and David’s Arcadian Loft Wedding might have been delayed by nearly 600 days, but it was worth it in the end. Stunning decor, beautiful moments, live music and a non-stop dance party. We had a LOT of fun making this film (as we hope you can tell).
“Mark, we’re speechless. You captured the wedding so perfectly – all the emotions and energy and everything. Thank you thank you thank you for this incredible video (and for convincing us to go for the feature length!). It still feels like a dream but now we have the hard evidence to show us that it really happened and was as amazing as we remember.” – Erica & David.
Finally!! A Downtown Wedding in Toronto that was definitely worth the wait
You could hear the relief in Erica’s voice from the very first moment she began her speech. The original wedding was date was May 17 2020. Then Covid happened and of course the pandemic restrictions caused their wedding date to be moved. May 17 became August 27, then February 6 2021 and finally December 12 2021. 3 rescheduled dates and 575 days later Erica and David’s wedding finally took place. And it was every bit as wonderful as we could have hoped for.
Their day began at their family homes in Toronto, enjoying a few mimosas with their parents and bridal party. Erica had her mom help her into her dress (which was stunning by the way) before the bridal reveal to her sisters and friends (this is such a great moment that should be a part of all weddings).
Once David was ready, he walked over to Erica’s for their first look on the roof top. We’re massive fans of first looks and Erica and David’s really was special. They were able to soak up the moment whilst basking in the beautiful sunshine on an unseasonably warm mid-December day. We can only imagine what was going through their minds, seeing each other for the first time on their wedding day; a moment they had waited an eternity for.
After a few quick portraits at the house we headed to Osgoode for the main photo session. Osgoode is popular destination for portraits for good reason. We love the grandeur of the buildings, with the steps, pillars and cobbled streets. On top of that, there’s the iron gates backing on to University avenue and a cute little park area for a splash of nature. It did get little chilly as the sun went down, but Erica and David didn’t seem to care. They kissed, embraced and danced for us allowing us to capture the shots we needed to help tell their story.
A 5 minute stroll later and we were at Arcadian Loft for the most important part of the day; the Bedekan and Jewish Wedding Ceremony. Hundreds of days later than intended, the moment had arrived for Erica and David to finally commit themselves to each other for the rest of their lives and to celebrate in style.
An Atmospheric and Luxurious Arcadian Loft Wedding
First of all, we have to give a huge shout out to the team from Melissa Baum Events. We were blown away by their decor and styling for this Arcadian Loft Wedding. They created an atmosphere that was warm, intimate and luxurious. As guests entered the ceremony and reception spaces we could see their eyes open wide taking in the scenery with the glowing candles, beautiful florals and web of fairly lights simulating a night sky.
Arcadian Loft was the ideal venue for David and Erica’s wedding with a perfect blend of elegance and historic charm, backdropped by Old City Hall and Queen West. It’s a stunning and modern space with multiple rooms that can be utilized for different parts of the wedding. Erica and David were able to have dedicated spaces for their ceremony, family photos, cocktail hour and reception. This helped the make the guest experience seamless as they were easily able to transition from the ceremony, to cocktail hour and finally the reception.
A Energetic Party Like no Other
The real highlight of the wedding had to be the reception. We spoke to Erica and David after their wedding and they really wanted to emphasize how that was the part of the day that stuck in their memories. They had so much pent up energy, after waiting and planning for so long, that it burst out as soon as they made their entrance and began the hora.
We’ve always enjoyed being part of Jewish weddings because they are always great celebrations. But this one was special. We loved the personal touches; their giant faces, their dog and Brazilian flags. Of course, Erica and David were hoisted in the air, followed by their parents, who’s faces fluxed between joy and terror. Then the couple were invited to throw themselves onto giant sheets ready to be thrown into the air. It was wild, and sweaty. In fact, if weddings were measured by sweat, Erica and David’s would be high up on the score sheet.
Even after the hora was done, guests used any excuse they could to get back up on the dance floor and party away. We were treated to so many wonderful speeches, joyful first dances and incredible live music from Sole Power who kept guests out of their chairs for the entire night.
Erica and David’s wedding was our last of 2021. It’s been a crazy two years, and we kinda needed this; a celebration with style, humour, romance, stories and a dance floor packed with people having the time of their lives. What a way to end the season.
