  • Wedding Film at Palais Royal Toronto | Amy + Matt

  • When I think back to Amy and Matt’s wedding at The Palais Royale in Toronto I’m hit by something quite distinct. A ridiculous amount of positive energy and love that was directed to two people for an entire day. Now, I know that might be something you’d expect at a wedding, but with these guys……it was just a little different. Unique Characters = Unique Wedding Film Amy and Matt are two of those people that you can only hope will come into your lives. They are people full of energy and warmth. These guys have A LOT of friends. And I mean good friends. Its amazing to see how people gravitate towards them, but most importantly, how they gravitate toward each other. They're inseparable and only seem to make each other better. They laughed, joked and cried together and truly lived the experience of getting married.  In a previous blog post waaaaay back, I wrote about the importance[...]
  • Chloe + April | Wedding Film | American Lodge, Hope BC

  • This is one of those wedding that you'll wish you were at. Not only to celebrate at a unique venue, nestled in the trees of British Columbia, but to witness the love between two very special people. From the moment we met April and Chloe, it became clear that we had to film their wedding. They had a unique story to tell and we felt so lucky to document a part of it.   Those Wedding Vows… Most couples that we film write their own vows and it is always so worth it.  To say something personal to each other on the day make the experience that more special. What we absolutely love about April and Chloe’s vows is how they paint a picture of their life together. Their words really drew us when we heard them. Not just because they sounded nice, but because our minds were filled with images of their life.  We also love how dynamic they are. They both express themselves slightly differently[...]
  • Vancouver Island Wedding Video | Hatley Castle + Fairmont Empress Hotel, Victoria BC

  • My favourite moments in weddings are those that are surprises. Tiffany and Levi put on a stunning Vancouver Island wedding helped by the expertise of Barb and her team from French Kiss Events. The ceremony was at the breathtaking Hatley Castle with a grand reception at the Fairmont Empress Hotel in Victoria. But the most beautiful moment in the day, nestled between the live band, mojito bar and speeches, was an impromptu first dance down by the pier.  "Georgia": A Sunset Dance in Victoria As we often do we (along with Ryan Flynn Photography) took the couple out for a 15 minute sunset shoot. These “Golden Hour” shots are always some of our favourite and we love to film soft, glowing images. As we headed to our destination we passed a band, busking to a small crowd. Of course, they all gave a “congrats” as we went by, but as soon as we stopped just a little way down the band called[...]
  • Toronto Wedding Film | Holcim Waterfront Estate, Ontario | Audrey + Jonathan

  • We began our 2017 wedding season with a bang, opening with Audrey and Joanathan's wedding at Holcim Waterfront Estate. It was the perfect way to ease into our busiest period, with a single venue and lots of beautiful moments to capture. We had emotional letters, a stunning first look, sparklers and a kick-ass dance party. Toronto Wedding Venue: Holcim Waterfront Estate There are some truly beautiful wedding venues in close proximity to Toronto. Holcim Waterfront Estate (Formaly Harding Waterfront Estate) has to be among our our favourites. Its a beautifully restored house set right next to Lake Ontario. There’s the lawn for the wedding ceremony, characterful rooms for bridal preparation and a spacious tent for the reception. But the best part is just how many great spots there within the grounds for a creative shoot. What about that cute little beach at the end of the estate? I think[...]
  • One King West Hotel | Toronto Wedding Video | Patrick and Julia

  • What a start to our Wedding Videography career in Toronto! With a truly unique wedding film set at the stunning One King West Hotel. Its been a long journey, moving our lives, daughter and business from Vancouver. We're already missing the west coast (we'll be back soon though)!, but things are shaping up nicely in the Big6. We're so excited for whats to come. But for now, back to this wedding.... P&J: A Star Wars Wedding When we began offering Wedding Cinematography in Toronto we couldn’t have hoped to encounter a couple as creative and fun-loving as Patrick and Julia. Being a pretty big geek myself, I loved the incorporation of sci-fi and fantasy into their wedding. I really believe that your wedding is a good reflection of your personality in a lot of ways. You literally make hundreds of choices from how the decor is styled, to the food that is served and the music that is[...]
  • Jessica + Cody | Wedding Videography Vancouver | Cecil Green Park House + Vancouver Convention Centre

  • Its easy for Wedding Videos to feel similar. After all, most weddings share the same events and timeline. As film makers its our job to emphasize the unique aspects of the day and most importantly the couple. Jessica and Cody made this so easy for us. Their wedding at Cecil Green and the Vancouver Convention Centre was filled with personalized touches. But more interestingly they literally threw themselves into the forefront of their film in a way that we haven't seen before.  A Unique Video Message It was Jessica that suggested that she record a message for Cody as a surprise in their Wedding Film. I have to say I was a little hesitant at first because things like this often don't work out. I've seen THOUSANDS of wedding videos and films over the years and addressing the camera can often feel awkward and just not a genuine in-the-moment moment (if that makes sense).  But as you[...]
  • Anna + Ian | Vancouver Island Wedding Videography | Bilston Creek Farm, Metchosin, BC

  • We love festivals and we love filming Weddings on Vancouver Island. We also love Pimms (especially Danielle), dancing in fields, rope swings, vintage cars and good natured people who are clearly in love. Ian + Anna = top 5 weddings for sure. The site of British Columbia's First Ever Wedding! Ian and Anna were married on Anna's family farm in the village of Mechosin near Victoria on Vancouver Island. It's a beautiful property set between the ocean and the forest where they grow lavender, honey and other goodies. Its also the very same farm that the first EVER (non first-nation) wedding in British Columbia. It occurred way back in 1855 between a Martha Chaney and Captain Henry Ella. How cool is that little history nugget?  An Inclusive Festival-Style Wedding We loved the inclusive nature of the day, with friends and family camping on-site and all pitching in to get every[...]
  • Alli + Eric | Wedding Highlight Film | Hatley Castle + Empress Hotel, Victoria BC

  • Directed by Mark Relf Additional Cinematography by Grace Gadston Photography (including cover image) by Blush Wedding Photography Co-ordinated and decorated by Trend Decor and Events Officiated by Barbara Densmore Flowers by Platinum Floral Design Ever wondered how a “Downton Abby” themed wedding would look? Well this is it. Victoria is famed for being more “English than England” (being English I’m just going to say that the claim is a little bit of a stretch) but when you throw in a Hatley Castle you really are pretty much there. We love Hatley Castle. Its such a stunning venue and full of character. Its also home to The X-Men, and thats pretty cool too. I don’t think we’ve ever seen a bride take so much care in designing wedding decor. The attention to detail is simply stunning and Alli’s hard work paid off to create a warm and charming environment. There are several sh[...]
  • Ruby & Armand | Wedding Highlight Film | Cecil Green Park House, Vancouver BC

  • I really felt a connection with Ruby and Armand. I think its really just that they reminded me of my and Danielle's relationship. Just like us, they met at a time of their lives when neither of them had absolutely any desire to be in a relationship and they were completely happily single. I read once that you can only truly love someone when you love yourself and I think its this state of mind that gives you the foundation for being a great partner. When you just happen to meet someone who is in the same state of mind you can't help but be drawn to each other. Its your secret club of happiness and it quickly evolves into a state of love. Ruby and Armand soon found themselves spending day after day with each other and realized that they were meant to be.  This video is a little different to many of our films because we incorporated some interview footage. Often interviews can feel [...]
  • Paul & Andrew // Wedding Film // The Vancouver Club, Vancouver BC

  • Directed and edited by Mark Relf Cinematography by Alvin Keung and Laurent Danis Planning by Love Struck Events Photography by Green Pomme Photography Make up and hair by Savannah St. Jean from Savvy Beauty Design and Kris Reign  Flowers by Flowerz Wedding officiated by Roxanne Thornton Band Sideone Cake by Sweet Thea Cakes Have we ever had a wedding film with more emotion? Paul and Andrew's story is rich with history, adding so much depth to their wedding film, and we loved that we had such a unique story that we could mould with some truly engaging visuals. You can really feel how close they are when you hear the influence they've had on each others' lives. These guys are an example to all future couples the importance of giving everything to really live  your wedding day by being open and emotionally exposed whilst surrounded by friends and family. The toughest [...]
  • Natalie & Jess // Whistler Wedding Film // Nita Lake Lodge, Whistler, BC

  • Filmed and edited by Mark Relf Additional cinematography by Chris Ricci Photography by Gucio Photography  Make up and hair by All Dolled Up make up and hair studio I'm not sure I've ever seen a  groom adore his new wife as much as Jess. Natalie's words and Jess' expressions of pure joy fill their film with emotion and we couldn't be happier with how it turned out.  We were excited to receive Natalie and Jess' enquiry back in the winter - Whistler is such an epic location and we love filming there. We wanted to make sure that we showed off the landscape, not just for the sake of the film, but because Whistler is a place that this couple love (they both live in Hong Kong and this was a destination wedding for them). So we took our new "flying camera' back up into the mountains a few days after the main event and had some great fun getting a birds eye view of the place.  Wit[...]
